An Important Message for our Clients from Rushing & Guice, PLLC

Dear Valued Clients, Business Colleagues and Friends:

Due to our status as an essential business, our office in downtown Ocean Springs is open and we are here to help you, your families and your businesses. Rushing & Guice remains prepared and committed to the continued satisfaction of our clients’ needs while also playing a supportive role in minimizing the spread of COVID-19. For this reason, we ask that your initial contact with us be by phone or email only so that we can assure all of our clients that we will continue providing top-notch legal services uninterrupted by the ongoing public health crisis.

We realize that many of you have questions about the economic effect this pandemic will have on you both personally and professionally. We encourage all of our clients who have been adversely affected to reach out to us so that we may discuss how we might be of assistance.

While the availability of insurance coverage for pandemic-related losses is still far from certain, it is imperative that you review your insurance policies and give notice of any potential claims as soon as possible. Timely reporting is critical to preserving your rights under your policies. Claims reporting information is found within your insurance policy, typically in the declarations section (the first few pages). We also encourage you to review your policies and look for terms such as virus, disease, infectious/communicable disease, bacteria, fungi, mold, contamination/contaminated and pandemic.

Coverage for COVID-19 will depend on the specific facts of your claim, the policy language and applicable state law. Moreover, actions taken by federal and state authorities in response to this pandemic are continuously changing and may impact insurance coverage. We are available to assist you with your policy review and interpretation, and once the relief act has become law and is available for review, we will provide you with our thoughts with respect to it.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this pandemic, and we wish for everyone to remain healthy and safe as we work through these challenging times.
